Now I am in the 21st century

MY faithfull old computor gave up the ghost, it was only a Pentium one and used to take hours to load up and several shovel fulls of coal now and again, Now I have a 1 gig of this and 80 gig of that and all sorts of other things I know absolutely nothing about , its probably got drip feed ignition in there somewhere, Its super fast now I dont know why I put up with an old banger for so long, takes me like under a minute to get from start up to opening Aulro, used to take three or four minutes before, constant freezing and restarts were normal life, aint modern technology just great!

It's all right... your still running windows the slow loading and lock ups will return before long.....

The Series 1 Landy may be slow but it plugs along and will get you home, it's windows always open and the central locking never fails. With a Disco 2 and TD5 engine you may be quick off the mark but there is no guarantee all the electronics will continue to work or you wont be coming home from the Northern Territory on the back of a semi trailer.

So what I hear you say is that landyfromanuthaland should have stuck with the Pentium 1 ?

Actually I enjoyed driving the D2 through the Territory and Gibb River Road to Broome and back.

Shame about the D1 that I saw on a flat top at Tennant Creek though .

My first computer about 12 years ago cost $1500 then and had the computing power of a game boy..
Its amazing what your $$$ can get nowadays. I added a second hard drive a year ago with an 80 gig drive for $225. They are now $50.00
Not worth upgrading em nowadays..
