County 110 arrives home

Well, The beast is home,
Attached pic and details. Now I have to strip it down and start swapping over the good bits from my Landie. Then the garage sale starts !!!
Have a look at what I got. The previous owner spent a bucket on this one.

Land Rover 85 County
All done 65,000 klm since rebuild in 1997- 1999
350 Chev with 4 barrel quadrajet & Edelbrock manifold. Steel crank & gas cam for added torque.
Hi torque starter motor. All hoses are silicon, iridium spark plugs, quality leads etc .Fully
engineered and all tuned Motor was new, not a reconditioned one.
2X VM Rangie air filters thru 2x airflow snorkels (one is not enough air volume) .
Taper roller transfer case conversion with extra capacity Marks adaptors sump.
Gearbox recond.
Maxi axles & flanges front & rear with lockers & rear disc brake conversion, front,rear & centre
diff all converted to electrical actuation from dash.
Both diffs & centre diff fully overhauled.
130 Rear axle housing & strenghtened front housing
130 springs.
120 w Bosch alternator
Holden V8 power steering
Dash Instruments include exhaust, front & rear diff,engine & radiator , gearbox & transfer case
temp guages plus new taco, speedo etc. All Auto Meter competition instruments.
Mallory oil bath Coil
Electronic distributor with points backup by performance ignition.
Diffs, gearbox / transfer case all with breathers into air filter
130 brake booster
Custom radiator & shroud
Engine & power steering oil coolers
Craig Davis cooling fan -manually operated
Stainless steel exhaust system - high temp coated & flange joined
Twin battery setup
Rear & upper storage boxes
Roof vents & overhead spot/ reading lights
Cibie headlights
Bonnet strengthened, vented & sound deadened
Aluminium front wingtip protectors
Seat box lowered for Rangie seats
Defender wheel arches
Aluminium overhead console.
Trafficator/ windscreen wiper stalk reversed - same as Aussie setup.
All mechanical work carried out by Fred Smith at Bayswater. Folder with every manufacturers
brochure/ manual included, plus original service book.
Spare parts.
Water pump
High pressure oil pump (used but heated up the oil, so replaced with std pump)
2 coil springs
6 Air filters
7 oil filters
5 fuel filters
All hoses & Belts
2 x Teflon coated swivel housings & 2 x swivel pins
Points for electronic Dizzy in case it fails.
3/4 of engine gasket kit. Carby gasket kit.
Chevvy & County 110 workshop manuals
Original camshaft & manifold
CB Radio
Bad points..
Slight rollover onto side & partly roof. Needs doors, roof & side panels,windscreen and maybe
tub and snorkels.
Transfer box rear output shaft broken.
Front pass side c/v broken & maxi axle damaged.
Not so bad points.
Shockers & Steering damper removed, ordinary wheels & tyres.
No seats,console, fuel tanks or fuel guages, bullbar,roofrack or wheel carrier.

Anyone care to give an estimate to the MPG I can expect??

This thing absolutely flew.

I did a few trips with it about 3 years ago, from memory it was really well set up for Touring and had every accessory and home made gizmo known to man.

You're right there Dave.....I remember when it first got put on the road. Fred took me for a spin in it up Burwood Hwy to his joint and back to the workshop.....we were only gone a few minutes.

This thing does hammer!

Nice buy there DeeJay....I saw it for sale....I thought about it....and then I thought about it some more.....Now I look forward to the garage sale at your joint.
