Diesels wanted for emmissions testing in SA

Hey guys,

As part of my work I bumped into a fellow with some dyno/emmissions testing gear which he needs to build up a sample of different diesels. He is looking for some Land Rovers as well. i figured I would post here and some fellow crow eaters might be interested.

I could be wrong but I am under the impression he wants to put it on the dyno (which can take full trucks as well) and do emmissions testing through rev ranges. The only negative is it would take your time, and if your car has some serious issues with emissions he may be required under law to defect your vehicle. The gear is at the rego dept at Regency Park. I assume they will be happy to give you the power output etc at rev levels.

So let me know and I am happy to pass on details.

"We are seeking the support of diesel vehicle owners to volunteer their vehicles for testing and for their time and effort we are giving incentives. If you are interested to see the list of heavy vehicles or buses that we also require, please let me know and I will forward those details as well.
For passenger or light commerical vehicles we are giving $100 Caltex Starcash vouchers which can be used at any Caltex service station to purchase fuel or any goods which are sold at that outlet.
(And for your information for heavy vehicles and buses that are manufactured prior to 1996 we are giving an emission report suitable for the ATO Fuel Tax Rebate. This report is valued at $550. For heavy vehicles and buses that are manufactured after 1996 we are giving a $200 Caltext Starcash voucher.)"

Hmmm. The only problem I see is that the D1 wasn't being manufactured after 2003.

The headings say

Make ; Model ; Required.

It refers to quantity. They require ONE (1) Land Rover Discovery made after 2003.

This is an assertion because there is no such officially named vehicle as "ML270 1" or "Prado 2"

I only posted this out of curiosity - yeah you might get defected but I would assume you would only go in if your confident of your cars emmissions quality

I was helping the guys who run the facility with some pc issues and we got talking about it as the guy knows I am a bit of a land rover fan.

Allreaady got a taker for an 03 I think it was TD5 disco.

I just figured some people might like to see how much power their cars actually put out, I am going to take the P38 down there in the next few weeks and see how feeble it is.
