Colours for motor etc

Can someone tell me what the original colour for a 2 litre motor of 53 vintage should be,
Your basic Olive green on the bodys was called ?
I am starting to go through the easy to clean and restore parts, guess I should start photograhping it in the before and after stages.

There seem to be quite a covern of S1 enthusiasts in the ACT, I must know half a dozen or so.

Regarding the engine colour I have heard that a mix of 2 parts of Humbrol Enamel Number 96 and 1 part number 149 gives a very close match for the colour. Not that you would buy Humbrol paints to make up the colour. However if you make a swatch a paint specialist can mix the colours for you.

Regarding the vehicle there is a recent thread in this section about it. From memory it was mid bronze green for the series 1 and deep bronze green for the series 2a.

Addit: this was the link for the British Standard Colours The Numpty's had the wheels for their Leon painted in Code 224 "Deep Bronze Green" and on the computer screen it looked very close to the original colour inside a 1957 LR rim.

Couldn't sleep my back and sciatica are giving me heaps tonight.

I was just looking at the British Standard colours and considering the colour on the 1948 "860159" engine my friend has - it has been stored in a shed for at least 40 years. If you were to ask me the colour from the screen image I would suggest "102 Turquoise Blue" or as a second choice "113 Deep Saxe Blue" although I have seen restorations with something like "174 Oriental Blue" but that looks too light when compared to the colour of the '159 engine.

GD I had another look at the 860159 engine again yesterday and am better than 95% sure that the British Standard "102 Turquoise Blue" is a match for the original colour of the early land Rover engines.

The only doubt I have is whether the screen display is the same colour/hue as the actual paint when mixed.
