D2 Replacement CD Stacker

Does anyone know if it is possibe to replace the Alpine XQE100240 CD stacker in the D2 with a current market unit without changing the LR head unit?
I have had the original repaired 3 times since I bought the vehicle and it is a recurring problem with the cartridge misaligning with the laser.
I know I should be moving to the big world of MP3s but I have so much music on CD and no time to burn to MP3 files.

I used to work in car audio and we made up adapter cables to suit aftermarket stackers connecting to factory head units.
All the manufacturers did when I worked in the industry was to use a different plug or swap a couple of the wires around in the original plug.

Give Advance Radio a call and ask if they still do it. Unless of course someone here nows that the LR Alpine and aftermarket Alpine are a direct swap.
