    power surge

I have a Disco TD5 that is surging and loosing power on acceleration up hills.
About a week ago it blew the turbo outlet hose (since replaced) but it is reluctant to go above 2500 revs. under these conditions.Seems reasonable on the flat.
May be a coincidence but I feel it`s turbo related.Could it be a damaged turbo modulator valve. Has anyone had similar issues?

my first thought is yes and its stuck closed and the engine is hitting the fuel limit imposed by an over boost situation (which would also account for the blown turbo hose...

you could also have a fouled intercooler.

Not that Dave needs anyone to agree, but I do anyway.
