    Camber Kit with Lift Kit

    Karcraft advised a Camber Pin kit should also be fitted with any lift kit, I have wondered about effect on geometry.
    Comments?

    Camber is not adjustable on any live axle Land Rover. Perhaps they meant castor...

    Maybe I should have taken notice of the fact that this is the Freelander section... My bad.

    I got them for my Freelander, and have failed to get them to make any difference. The camber does look out once the lift kit is fitted, but after maybe 10,000km there doesn't seem to be any uneven tyre wear and the steering is fine.

    I did take the car to the Guys at Sydenham (can't remember their name - suspension specialists recommended by Graeme Cooper) they set the camber up as best as they could, but found that they could not get any useful adjustment out of the camber pins either, so took them out (great guys though - would recomend them).

    Since its not solid axle based, camber is dynamic. Lift pushes the wheel down, and the A arm pulls it inward a little. The camber pins correct this, only 3 deg or something. It isnt noticable in tyre wear generally, perhaps only when cornering hard.

    I dont have them, and my BFGs are wearing on the outside edge, more so than when unlifted. But speed has more effect than camber.

    Still, returning to standard geometry is desireable, atleast for the low cost of it.

    Which pin/bolt do they replace?
    I'm only guessing at the single bolt that clamps the bottom of the strut assembly to the hub. Unless they use the wishbone/link fixing points to achieve this.

    It replaces the upper bolt of the 2 that connect the strut to the hub

    I have a pdf of the instructions but can't seem to add it here.

    the pins work well to make the camber worse, but didn't seem to help make it better.

    Might try again sometime, but like I said the tyre wear is okay

    Well, if they can make it worse, they can make it better by the same amount. The bolt is smaller, so if the camber can get worse by a few degrees, then correct installation can make the camber better by the same amount.

    Thanks for that, the mud has cleared rapidly before my eyes.
    Now I know what the bolt looks like it is straightforward.
