D90 wing top & bonet protector

Hi there..

Finally had my Wing top & bonet protector project finished. here are some photos taken during the progress of the project.

traced with card board as templet

enough for 2 sets on a piece of 4'x8' checker plate

cut out result

reconfirming the dimension

the gap 6~8mm (depands on condition of wing top) due to the contour

the front part of wing top (25mm gap)

to overcome the problem, cut plate were bent by knocking

wodden plank act as a mold

knock to desire shape

the result of knocking

the final look of my D90 with both protectors fitted

the bonet protector

the 1/4 submerged rivet head (4" gap)

the bonnet sprayed matt black due to glare and uncomfortable to drive. actually bare aluminium is nicer with my jelopy current color (grey)..
