is it a S (or 7 seater) if it is just go to a dealer and get the tounge. If its a coil sprung disco go to Hayman Reese Towbars, Hitch Receivers, Protection Bars, Cargo Barriers, Acessories & Bike Racks and look uo a WA stockist

I think you'll find the OE/dealer fitted Australian ones are made by ARB.

If the tongue ( hitch ) and reciever is the same as the square Hayman Reese one, any caravan accessory or trailer place should have those with a range of different length "drops" to the towball.
You'll need to get the hitch pin and clip too.

Sorry Steve i did leave out some usefull info mate, if its a sprung vehicle like you say it is a hayman reece towbar should be fitted to the car replacing the LR one, the reason why is the LR bar "IS NOT" designed to have a WDH used in conbination with it, i was told that there is a couple of bolts "THAT CAN SNAP" with the opposite forces applied byt the WDH. The HR bar is designed diferently and will accept these forces, Safety is paramount when it comes to selecting the tow setup. Even Pacific LR on the Sunshine Coast have the LR bar removed and HR bars fitted to the coil sprung cars for van towing purposes when they sell them.

Another thing Steve if the ride is still not quite rite i would also recomend putting a set of pollies in. When our airbags die i will be replacing them with coils and pollies then the towbar. Thats if its around the same price or cheaper to do that is.

thanks for the info... im still a little confused tho (doesnt take much :P )

the car is standard and had the standard hitch (rated to 3.5 tons with 250kg noseweight) the tongue bit is the bit that is missing.

Have i mistakenly called the thing a hayman reese hitch when in fact its not? its just the landie one?

there is no weight distribution system fitted either.

the car will be used for towing a 3t boat so as long as the trailer is correctly setup (nose wise) then does it need the weight distribution (or would if be recommended?

With regard to the polys do they do the same job as the SLS? but in a manual way? (time to do some research i think!)

Thanks again for the info... greatly appreciated!

    Steve
