    93RR VC Kaput

    Hi all,

I'm this has been covered before....

My VC has seized and I have bought a new one through Ashcroft's but it'll take another week or so to get here.

Can I drop my front drive shaft and drive the car around short distances without any damage?

We have only one car and SHMBO is getting cranky to be under house arrest until the part arrives.

    Advice or comments welcome.

    TIA

    George

A RR with a VC is basically rear wheel drive until the rear wheels slip and then the VC kicks in and also provides drive for the front.

In theory you should remove the VC if it was serviceable but if it has had it and locked it doesn't matter.

You should be able to remove the front drive shaft and still drive around.

There is nothing else that can be damaged.
