					Hi All,
 I purchased my FL2 (diesel, silver colour) in September 2007 .  And I love it !  Tho I'm open to any advice, help etc being that I'm unable to find help online or get anything decent from Landrover or the dealer.  I was directed to this site from freel2.com.
 
 To start with; a brief run down on me. Been around LR's all my life as my father has always had them.  I've always had Toyota's, however due to not getting off road as much as I used to, it was silly to have a tank when I didn't need one.  So when I saw the FL2, it was great off road and a dream on road, I thought, well it's time to make dad proud and finally be a Landrover owner 
 
 So coming from manual gearboxes and of course good old high/low range.  This new terrain response is all so weird to me.  I've used it in different aspects of off roading but still very unsure of it all.  I don't enjoy driving automatics at any time and auto off road this is just a whole new experience to me.  And giving control to car totally is weird too.
 
 I've not been able to find much info on the terrain response, can anyone here help me.  So far I've used it in all areas of the TR but on the odd ocassion had some beeps or flashing symbols and not sure what or why they are happening.  (I drove most of the time in manual, so I felt more in control)
 
 I suppose I'm just a little worried that I'm gonna do something I'm not supposed and don't wanna learn the hard/expensive way.

					Wear earmuffs and ignore the flashing lights  
 
 Just let the TR do what it was put there for, don't try and second guess it.
 Otherwise the little Dalek installed under the dashboard might crack it and start on the whole 'exterminate, exterminate' line.
 
 But have fun and keep posting how the Freebie2 is growing, my wife is very keen on replacing our Freebie1 with the newer, prettier, more capable version.

					Here is something I found on another web site for the D3 and could be applied to the FL2
 
 Terrain Response will adjust:
 
 Engine-management system: the throttle map is altered, suiting torque delivery to the chosen terrain.
 
 Electronic control system: of the auto gearbox, to optimise gear-change points.
 
 Dynamic Stability Control (DSC): normally stops torque to a wheel after loss of traction, but in some off-road situations torque-feed is still desirable, even when traction is being lost. Terrain Response automatically adjusts DSC, for appropriate torque.
 
 Electronic Traction Control, Brake-force Distribution and ABS brakes: these slip- and braking-control systems are all adjusted and tuned by Terrain Response to offer optimum grip, braking power and safety on the chosen terrain.
 
 Hill Descent Control (HDC): automatically restricts speed downhill, using the anti-lock brakes, and enables drivers to remain in control on slippery downhill stretches.

 With regards to your beeps you need to provide some more detail on what you where doing when these happened. I think generally you do not have to think too much beyond adjusting tyre pressures. Adjust the dial to the terrain and point the car where you want to go making sure not to bottom out.

					Thanks Guys, I suppose I'm just used the old fashioned way where there was more thinking involved and more of a challenge.  The only challenge I have now is judging ground clearance.
 
 SuperMono, I understand the wife...being a female too I understand the need for the car to look good  and the FL2 does look gooooood !! and the FL2 does look gooooood !! 
 
 I've only been out twice so far in her and she's done well.  Well except for the driver error stuff ups.  But I'm learning.  I can't wait to get her out for some longer runs.  See if she can keep up with the big boys..... 
 
 Inside, I can't recall when and why the beeps, but will keep a better on eye it next time.
 
 One thing I found out recently after a trip to the dealer is that the air filter doesn't cope too well.  I had to change it after only what 7 months  and only two off road trips.  That surprised me.  What surprised me more was the comment from the dealer "well it looks like this car has been off road"...Ummm helllloooo, it's a 4WD !!! 
 
 Once again thanks.  Hopefully it won't be too long before I'm back off road, can't wait.  But unlike the Toyota, at least while I'm not off road I'm thoroughly enjoying the ride on-road !!!
