    new clutch recommendations for 130

    Good Morning All,
I am hoping that somebody may be able to give me the benefit of their own experiences and recommended some suitable clutch options for a defender 130. I Have a good mate who reckons Daiken are the go as he he says the pedal feel and pressure is fairly good for when the beloved wants a turn at driving. Is there such a thing as a heavy duty clutch with a light clutch pedal? Any comments will be most welcomed.
    Thanks very much
    Dave

Fitted an AP kit about 8 months ago. The original Valeo cover was on it's last legs at 220,000km, but the plate looked new.
I find the Land Rover clutch fine. SWMBO reluctantly drives my 130 on occasion (she normally drives a Patrol with a power assisted clutch) and has never complained about the clutch.

When ordering a kit, remember to replace the fork and spigot bush as well, and order the plastic retaining clips for the thrust race and slave cylinder push rod.

My mechanic just pulled the LR clutch plate out of my 130 the centre had literally been torn away from outer section which still had 50000 left on it. I believe around 200,000 is the general life of these clutch plates before they do this. Put a heavy duty one in it place the pedal is definately lighter and suit to your wife driving it. I will find out what type it was and drop you a thread.

    130 Clutch

    Gentlemen
Thankyou very much for your advice. I have gone and ordered an excedy sportstuff which is a Heavy duty version of the OE excedy replacement. I will be fitting it this weekend and will let you know what she's like to drive. I apologise for the lateness between posts but I don't get to use the computer for fun much, it's generally taking up my time doing work.
    cheers
    Dave
