Smile You never know what will happen in the Big City

I took one of my very rare forays into the big smoke on Saturday to pick up some life support (a wood heater) for my move to Lithgow. After collecting said item I'm driving the Disco along City road minding my own business, window down, towing a box trailer full of what probably looks like scrap metal in the god-awful 4pm traffic and playing catch-up with a minibus full of young people in the other lane. They're hanging out of the windows and appear to be carrying on a bit so when the lights ahead go red and I pull alongside I'm expecting some verbal abuse and a bit of litter hurled into the trailer. Instead I got a very well sung ...

    Happy Birthday to you,
    Happy Birthday to you!
    Happy Birthday dear Land Rover,
    Happy Birthday to you!

There were no markings on the minibus and I've no idea who they were but they made my day.

    HAHAHAHA!

    That's AWESOME!

You know what isn't though - around that area, you're probably the only Landy driver who understood wtf they were on about!

Did you have a 60th Anniversary sticker on?

So the Disco's all fixed? When are you coming out to play again?

    Regards

Lol. I thought they'd seen a sticker too but of course the Disco didn't make it to Cooma, the stickers are all on the S1, so they figured it out themselves.
If it had been "full of land rover apprentice mechanics" with the state of my Disco they probably would have hurled abuse and litter...

Sfaik the heater works, it was all the bits of flue and roof flashing that made it look like a pile of scrap metal.

Max - sorry I missed the last TT. The Disco is mobile at least, whether it's fixed is another question...
