Thats no good mate. At least it sounds like they didn't have to keep going after the angiogram.
Well just got out of Hospital yesterday again.
Went in with minor chest pain and after having my history of AF etc off to Hospital we trotted.
I went in feeling great (other than a little chest pain rating about 1 to 2 on the pain chart) and came out not being able to do anything again due to bruising not only from blood tests and being poked with all sorts of needles but ended up having a Angiogram.
They found my Triponin level was .16 instead of .08 which means the heart muscle has been damaged by something but normally a heart attack would be around 40 apparently so they came to the conclusion it may have been a slight infection.
The main problem was that after the Angiogram they need to clamp the vain but they have clamped something that has swallen another part of my anatomy and turned it black and blue which is the only real pain I am in but I still have to take it easy so that I dont bust the vain open.
So it's back to DVD's, Forum and Video games for me for a week.....
Dont know why I posted it, just thought I would.
Thats no good mate. At least it sounds like they didn't have to keep going after the angiogram.
Cheers

Hey McRover, Glad to hear everythings allright. Hospitals suck, even the really good ones. I had a bi lateral hernia repair last october which slowed me down for a while but seemed to go well. Around the end of January this year i did something which really aggrivated it, My surgeon has been trying everything from anti inflamentories to physio with no luck. I've been on morphine for the pain for the last 2 months. Finally decided that i wasn't imagining the pain and are operating tomorrow!!!!! I understand your frustration and hope everythings smooth sailing from now on.
Cheers,
Dave.
I feel for u mate as I had open heart surgery almost 3 yrs ago now but know all to well what angiogram is like when clamped wrong.
Get a good collection of dvd's together and put the feet up.
Take care.

better to be in pain and know all is well than to ignore symptoms like I did for 2 weeks to discover I was having heart attack?
All is good know I have been back to work full time for just over 2 yrs.![]()
Look after yourself. I hope it all goes well.
I hope the swollen bit of your anatomy isn't the bit that is supposed to swell with blood!

I had an angiogram about 4 years ago which they stuffed up the closing of the femeral artery on.
Got re admitted about 4 hours after having been discharged and then the cardioligist had a ****fight and wouldn't attend to fix the problem
Eventually they admitted me to intensive care and the "intensifist" (the bloke that runs ICU) helped me out. Large doses of morphine and a cute little pnuematic clamp which they pumped up to stop the bleeding.
Got out again after about 3 days but bloody hell, u should have seen the bruising, From my knee to my belly button. I wrote a letter to the CEO of the hospital and they waived all the charges.
Kick back, take your time n get well.
Sorry to here about your hospital trip. I had something similar last year.
I take it they didn't put a plug in to the artery? I had the plug and still had to take it easy for about a week. I understand the other method requires you to be laid up even longer.
The other thing to look forward to is bruising from knee to groin. Of course it varies person to person as to how much you bruise.
