    New member saying Hi!

    Hi to all,

Well our new Defender arrives in Brisbane Port tomorow so need to start thinking about where to go off road?

Only been here for 3 months after moving over from Dubai (me and the other half are Poms) were we had a Tomb Raider 110 double cab for 6 years (Got bored of driving round an Empty desert!). Just need to learn how to drive in Mud now!

Do any of you meet up for a gentle ish off road play and if so do you mind if i tag along for the day in a couple of weeks time?

So what mods do you think i should get first?

    Mud tyres?
    UHF?

    All advice welcome

    Hi

    welcome andy2.4
If you go to upcomming trips down the bottom of the forum you will find many trips out of Brissy.
You might also put you intro in the introductions area.

if you are pomms then you must of originated from the uk, which means you should be at home at driving in the mud as thats all thats over there

its more rocks than mud here, we had that learning curve......still welcome to the froum and the defender section.

and as suggested above please introduce your self in the introductions area you are far more likely to get a greater response, as not all the cheese eating disco and rangie drivers come by this side of town
Our Land Rover does not leak oil! it just marks its territory.......

So you're getting the new Defender? I have one too - love it.

Mine has almost every accessory known to humanity, as I have set it up for a around Oz trip which we start in 2 weeks!

Really depends on what you'll be doing with it - but if Mud is your thing, perhaps get another set of rims with some MT tyres. The Grabbers are great for everything - except mud!

    Welcome to the forum, mate.

    Welcome.
Get a UHF even hand held for convoy trips.
Bull bar is handy and so are the tyres.

    Thanks to all,

The Defender arrived in Bris Port today so maybe another 10-15 days before we collect from Dealer.

Dont really know why i thought there would be Mud everywhere but coming from the desert i thought soil & water would go a bit mushy! Then again it hasn't rained much since we arrived.

Can anyone recommend any good places to get things like UHF , Fridge , split Bat charger, Fitted in Northern Brisbane area? All off me old one with exception of UHF.

    Thanks again for the welcome

prestige communications for radio gear. They are an online store. I suggest you get an over head console if you have a new model Defender.
