LT95 High ratio conversion in situ

I am considering changing the high transfer gear ratio in the LT95 box in my 1984 V8 County 110. Currently I have the standard approx 1.3:1 ratio and am considering upgrading to one of the RR ratios. The engine is a standard 3.5 L engine which has been recently rebuilt and is in good condition. I want to make the conversion to decrease revs at 100 kph.

    My Questions are:

    (1) I believe that this can be done with the LT95 in the car. How difficult is the high ratio upgrade with the box in the car, and is anyone aware of a site or reference to guide me in doing this?
    (2) Since there is a fairly wide selection of ratios available (Discussed in previous threads) what ratios (other than the standard) are people using in Countys with the 3.5 engine? For those with higher ratios than standard have you any suggestions as to what seems to be the ideal ratio?

Any comments on either topic would be appreciated.

    Regards

    Michael

Im fairly certain that it should be doable with the box in situe from looking through the rebuild instructions for the LT95 tcase side but thats based on how it sits in a deefer.

worst case should see you needing to drop the rear mounts to lower it down for acess.

Do able in situ, but fiddly.

I have replaced the thrusts in my LT 95 in situ 3 times lately, and many others over the years too...

As the 2 above pointed out, it is doable, but a pain in the fuggin sphincter

Is it worth removeing the box to do it on the bench? .......hell no, just have some grease and tough tie wire handy, you'll know why when you get to it

Thanks for the comments guys. Sounds as though I need to pluck up the courage and just do it. Assuming that I do get around to this I'll take some photos for the amusement of anyone else who goes down this track!
