Help: classic rangie no ignition/fuel pump

Stopped on the side of the highway just now for a fella and his missus in a rangie with the bonnet up

Symptoms: no power to coil (piranha electronic ignition fitted), fuel pump doesn't start.

I have a meter and a torch and plan on heading back to help out, but I have no elec schematics and no experience with old rangies. How close is the disco?

Any info, guesses, wiring diagrams greatly appreciated

Just had a chat with the fella. after sitting for a while, it starts. coil heats up so hot you can't touch it.

    reckons his coil is shot.

He's set up camp and will hang there overnight and have another go in the morning.

    problem fixed it self....

on his way to Canberra now.

If you are heading north up the hume and see a dead rangie on the left, stop and lend a hand. He seems like a nice fella
