Exclamation HELP... Different front shock part numbers??

    My Disco is in bits....

I've had the symptoms of a dud front passanger side shock on my 99 D2 TD5. Started off with a wheel balance etc but still the vibrations at 80k+.

I'm in the process of putting in a pre-loved shock (interim fix til I decide what I want) however the shocks have different part numbers...... Need to check if the are inter-changable.

Shock now off is a "CTF RNB103693", part supplied by LR wrecker is "ATF RNB 103533" + "B23A2".

Can anyone give me a yes or no to go ahead with the swap????

    Cheers........

    Hi
    If it's only temp replacement
Just compare the shocks travel, if both are the same (half inch won't kill it) , then OK .... on the whole, just install it

The difference will probably only be update or preupdate, or at best ACE or nonACE which will still probably be no significant difference to the valving. As long as they both have the bar pin at the bottom for the 2 bolt mounting, then they will get you out of trouble. If there is no bar pin for the 2 bolt lower mounting, then its probably going to be a rear shock and wont suit.

    Thanks Mike & Slunnie...

I'll put it in and see how we go... Checked up and down travel and both identical.....

Always cautious when playing around with suspension and brakes..

    Cheers......
