11 semis stuck in Tibooburra
The ABC news tonight reported 11 semis carrying gas pipes to Moomba were stuck in Tibooburra.
I was talking to one of the drivers in the Shell cafe on friday, just as the police closed the Broken Hill road. I guess he went to Moomba and is now one of the stuck ones, probably returning from Moomba for another load.
Nice guy, I was asking if the ride is as rough in the truck as in the Rangie, and he reckoned it was. they are just a semi with a telescoping middle like a timber Jinka, but they carry extra long PVC pipes with a total load of 23 tonnes.
They even got 2 inches in Quorn. The farmers will be happy as they had planted into 25 points which fell 2 weeks ago. I was speaking to a 70 plus guy in Quorn who was still farming even though they are 50 Km above the Goyder's Line and get 3 failures of ten..

didn't see the news but saw the weather map
a good mate has a few thousand acres north of bourke, might be time for a visit he has 3 lakes (usually dry) but they would be well and truly full now.
