You can get a good running example it seems for not a lot more than that!

Pickles in Sydney had two red early D2 V8s (2000MY? Can't remember) for sale recently for a set price of something like $10,800. They both looked good, one had low kays - around 115,000km. They were listed for auction a couple of times and I don't know what they got for them at auction of if they were sold for the set price but if they wanted $10k as a set price it's an indication that bids were not even near that...

Just purchased a 2000 V8 c ACE, 135K - intend putting it on gas and hey presto - have a lowish kms vehicle with all the benefits of being D2 - ACE especially is great. Should cost about same a a td5 to run wrt fuel cost. (ie until lpg goes through roof...) I know distances will be limited but for most of what I am doing is a good option as only am doing short distances.

Sad isn't it that such a lot of Land Rover is being sold for bugger-ll. makes it a buyers market, just don't pay too much. It's a bit like the one I just scored although older (94 Disco V8i) but still a bargain at $2.5K even with a knackerd transfer case

The cheapest D2 I've seen locally was $7K in the trading post a while back (had 280K on the clock and was sold unreg).
