accessories worth more than Defender

Just got my fully comp. insurance renewal for a 98 Defender, amount covered $11,300 for a premium of $545, (a higher premium than when it was insured for $37,000 when I first bought it!) a drop of $5000 odd from last year including most of the accessories bull bar, winch, driving lights etc. on tallying up the accessories and modifications I came to the cost value, not replacement value of $15,880.
On talking to the insurance company the best value I could get was $16,000 about what it was valued last year for $571

What are others paying for Defenders of the same vintage?

i just insurned my 101 as being 30 year old vehicle some company wont do it after much phoneing around got onto crowd in victoria have used them years ago
give fellow buy the name of joe 0398546714 they gave me agreed value on 101 plus rights to vechile if written off plus give 1 windscreen per year and your choice of reparier excess 5oo dollars 430 dollars per year

Well mine cost me $450 a year for a 1995 90 300tdi PERSONALLY IMPORTED truck. With all the notmal extras, (arb bumper raised suepension, winch) And it is valued at an agreed $25,000 (don't really know how much it is worth )

BUT the car is now on limited k's of 6000 a year and cost $300 a year for the same amout value

I seem to recall that vehicles over 10 yo are subject to higher premiums.

Jee you need to tell them ,they must be mistaken, as you wanted car insurance and not part ownership of their company .

Keep in mind that age plays a big part....and to a large degree....where it is that you live....
