    rear door unlock

While I can see a reason for two presses of the fob to get the non-drivers doors to unlock-
but can someone explain to me why we need THREE to get the rear door to unlock??

and can we get it changed to just two??

    please?

    Rear Door Unlock

I can't say for certain, but you probably have the same problem that I do. My RH rear passenger door requires three presses to unlock, but that is not a design feature. It is just that the servo is very slow. I could replace it but have decided that I can live with it for the time being. Hope that helps.

    Cheers,

I have a 2000 D2 with this issue as well, sometimes 2, but most often 3 presses required to unlock it.

so i am wondering, is this due to the lock mechanism being gummed up with rubbish or the actuator getting old and not having sufficient power to work the lock mechanism?

i cleaned out the lock tunnell and mechanism last night with electrical cleaner which also gets rid of the grease, and then re-greased the lock.... there was alot of dirt in there, but it doesnt seem to have made a difference, sometimes it opens with 3 presses, sometimes only takes 2... when i press three times the button on the rear door comes up slightly but not enough to unlock.

my door seems to hinge find and line up with the striker correctly.... any other peoples experiences would be good...

Just went & tried mine....1 press all round, but when I tried it the 1st time then unlocked it, needed to press the button twice to open the tailgate, then tried it several times & guess what...the tailgate unlocked everytime 1st time.
