I don't know about your MAF question but for LPG the injection is going to be better as it is newer technology but the install is probably double what your Rangie is worth.

I paid $3500 for Carb and Gas in Woolloongabba to install the old type sytem into my 94 update Disco. A few here have used them as they are good but also one of the few places that will touch a Land Rover.
My system included a new manifold tank on the floor in the rear. That was about $1k on its own so depending on the tank you get will vary the price.

Don't forget the $2k govt rebate.

Also why wait to get your MAF fixed before you install LPG? I'd be putting my name on the waiting list today. I don't know what the wait is these days though.
Once you have LPG you will rarely run petrol anyway.

Your '86 would have the flapper air flow meter, which doesnt like LPG backfires. I understand the the sequential systems are less prone to causing backfires but best check with someone in the know.
