So happy with my TD5 fuel economy

I have not had my 2001 TD5 for long so last week it had its first longer trip to Busselton and beyond from perth. A trip of 763kms with mostly hwy driving and some city driving. On return it took 68.3 litres. It certainly beats the old V6 4runner gas gobbler. I just had to tell someone.

    Cool!
I get about 9.5l/100kms out of mine.
Bit of a trap though as with the Longranger tank it costs well over $200 to fill the bugger!
Went to Dunsborough and Margs for the June long weekend, cruised around and only used about a half a tank.
    Cheers

Yep stoked. Now its time to do a service so I know that all the oils and fluids are good. So what brand filters and oils do you recommend. Is genuine the way to go or are there cheaper good quality alternatives.

    Off thread,

Hi Dave, your Name interests me!
Are you a airport firey or airborne firey?
I suspect Airservices, as I'm Helitack pilot and can't put your name & 4 Runner together to link you to FESA or Heli Aust.
    Just interested.

    Regards Greg

Hi, I am an airport firey, I have visited your work quite a few times.
We dont tend to work much with you guys but we do help out with filling the water bombers when they are needed. They use the hydrant at the fire station on twy Foxtrot.
I have a great pic of 2 of your choppers filling up at the same time from a lake near where I live. I will send you a copy if you like.
    Cheers Dave
