Just had a look at this tell me what you think









The bulkhead isnt too bad it looks like the sills are the one's copping all the rust.

The chassis is not as bad as I once thought also it has long range tanks and dual batteries plus some spares.

He is asking $1800 for it (licenced but not running easy fix though)

What are the door frames like? Base of c pillar? Rear crossmember?

Sounds a little $$$ for the condition, but I suppose if it doesn't need to be taken over the pits then that is a plus.

EDIT:
bit of mixing and matching has gone on with that - it is a pre 67 model, but has a 70-71 grill and similar vintage (or SIII) rad support.
The headlights, dodgy zebra stripes and plush toys look strange

Fixing the rusty sill channel is quite easy, just tack weld some scrap steel to the pillars to hold them in place, then cut off the old sill channel (after removing all floor/seat box bolts), and weld in a new one, made from 2 (each side) hardtop/ute sill channels (they are gal so don't usually rust).

If you don't want to do it again, you can pull them out and gal them.

Door frames and c pillar are ok could do with some work and all of chassis is pretty much in good nick from what I could see.

• It is a pre 1967 model.
• Has series 3 door hinges.
• The grill is off an Australian build suffix G or H SIIa (1970 - 1972)
• Most of the trim seems to be missing.
• Whomever maintained the vehicle was not bothered to replace all the body bolts, so one would wonder what other short cuts have been taken.
• I wasn't going the mention the headlamps.

A lot of work getting it back to pristine in whatever model it was.

Not too worried about the work to get her back and yes the head lights will be first on my list to fix along with the front seats

As for the rest, this is what we get here in WA for that sort of money but I have been looking for a wagon ever since I got rid of my stage 1 V8

If it is original engine in reasonable condition, then the biggest concern is rust, mainly chassis and bulkhead. As commented above, the sills are relatively easy to fabricate (the originals are apparently NLS but you can replace them with 110/Defender ones - but they are pricey) as indicated, they are in one piece including the centre pillar and the sloping bit.

It has been messed with a fair bit, but if it is mechanically reasonable, and the rust not too bad (it is probably worse than it looks!) the price may be reasonable - series wagons are not all that common.

The engine is not the original but is to be running ok (Has a fuel problem)

Also I was hoping to try and get it for around the 1200 mark

last I asked, complete 110 sill/pillar assemblys were $400 each.
