    Hy-Tuff axles on the way

After a routine job to replace the rear brake rotors today, I found that my rear drive hubs and axles are both buggerd. With a rear diff locker in the pipeline I thought it might be time to look at an upgrade. After a phone call to Barry from Hy-Tuff axles and I was all sorted out, I have to say that Barry was a great help very polite and good to deal with.

So the wait is on till I receive my new axles and diff locker

As far as I know and been told, Barry from Hi Tough engineering is now making the maxi axles under a new name. He took over the axle making after Mal from maxi drive retired. They cost around 800 for the axles, drive flanges it comes as a kit.

Wow - looks like you just caught them in time. The axle in the first pic is twisted! Not far from failing completely.

I knew they were weak but without lockers I thought they would have lasted longer than 160k. I only run standard size tires and I don't really abuse it offroad too much, just another LR thing I suppose. Well there's no way they would have lasted long with a locker in the rear.
