    Self Levelling Unit

The Boge Hydromat self levelling unit on my 110 appears to be leaking. A rubber seal on the piston has come adrift. The rubber gaiter on it become detached and it has been submerged a few times.

Is it something which needs replacing ASAP or can I just wait to the end of my trip?

    Regards

    Brendan

Remove it (unbolt) and also replace the springs with unleveled ones, the ride is much the same and you don't have a leveler to crap out. Very few of them will still be working now anyway.

    Thanks for the information folks.

It would appear that most Defenders imported into Australia did not have the self levelling device fitted anyway so I think it will be removed and forgotten about.

This device has been on my 110 since 1996 and it is first time it has needed any attention in some 300,000 kms

    Regards

    Brendan
