Rubber coupling - rear prop
Hi,
I have noticed that the rubber coupling between the rear propeller shaft and the diff has a few cracks in it (it's a D1).
The cracks are in the rubber near a couple of the bolts.
It looks like it has been cracked for a while and I haven't noticed any odd noises or handling.
How important is it for me to change this rubber coupling?
Should I do immediately or can it wait a while? (I think its already been a while.)
I only doing gentle on road driving at the moment.
Are there any things I should particularly know when changing this rubber coupling?

Minor cracking is fairly normal. With your driving, it will probably last a couple more years.
Just keep an eye on it, they're only around $90 or so if you get too concerned.

rubber coupling
mine poohed itself a few months back, for awhile i thought the tranny was on the way out but a bit of investigation showed the coupling at fault, pulled it out replaced it then bought a spare ($117). Good insurance to carry a spare one of these. Also replaced the nuts and bolts.
