    i have never updated the firmware on my'n since i have had it 80
    does everyone else regulary update there's ?

    I always worry about firmware updates....i have had things stuff up on me when i have put firmaware upgrades in and had to reset it all so i stopped doing it.
    Our Land Rover does not leak oil! it just marks its territory.......

    Lou, I did the D200 update to v2.01 last week. It's a little fiddly but not hard or anything to worry about. The Nikon Knowledgebase has a detailed "how to". If you are concerned though, you can always do it when your up here.

    Two most important things to do are have a freshly charged battery in the camera and follow the instructions.

    Whether I update the firm ware is a bit dependant on what it fixes or what benefits it may bring. (sometimes it's a case of just adding a language)


    Over the years I've done most electronic firmware updates, GPSr, Camera, computer BIOS etc, just follow the instructions accurately and all should be OK.

    I have an 18 month old d80 and I haven't struck the problem. Interestingly it says the mac version is compatible with 10.5.2. I'm on 10.5.5. It would probably be ok though...
