    Exclamation JDNSW - Needs assistance near Mudgee

    Just had a call from John and he is broken down in or near mudgee with a broken lt95 gear stick

    anyone able to lend him a hand ?

    Shame he didn't have a welding rod and some sunnies - he coulda dun it Roothy style!

    (From what I know of JD, he would be carrying jumper leads and has dual batts - although not for the reason above!)

    Thanks to all for the thoughts, and to Incisor for posting the message for me.

    Also thanks to the NRMA for prompt help.

    The gear lever came off while parking in the main street of Mudgee in the middle of a working day!

    Failure was, by the appearance of the break, a fatigue failure right at the top of the ball.

    NRMA took me and the lever to a welder, welded on the spot for $15, and then NRMA picked me up and took me back to the car.

    Removing the lever took just the time the NRMA took to arrive, about five minutes to replace it then another five to put the tools away. Total time lost about two hours including a pie for lunch.

    I am now in Wentworthville for a school reunion over the weekend in Parramatta.
