    conversions

have heard of 250 ford in landies, but the most popular conversion seems to be holden red motors. With the holden motor nothing around the radiator needs changing too much other than adapting hoses to fit. As for 5 speed don't know would be a lot of work engineering the fit i would think, then tailshaft lengths etc.
There are a few overdrive options available for landies, just comes down to bucks though.
    hope this helps.

If you would consider staying with the rover engine, this company:

    http://www.automotivecomp.com/landrover_perf.html

Do a number of tuning upgrades for 2.25/2.5 Series Land Rover engines. exchange rate and freight would probably make it too expensive however.

I had one of their Stage 2 gas flowed high compression heads a long time ago on my S2a. With their head, carb and cam they claim an extra 43bhp.

They even do engines up to 2.8l.

As another option my youngest brother has fitted a supercharger off a Mini Cooper, with a different front pulley to suit on his s2a

    Seems promising....

There are a few people around running Ford 250s and similar. I think there are a couple of companies who make/made adaptors between C4 boxes and series cases and top loader boxes and series cases.
