I love the way these notices start out with the simple things and leave the potential disaster to the end.

Start with a flat battery and perhaps end up with bursting into flames, while parked

Although you would hope the worst anyone every experiences is the flat battery.

I'm thinking I will remove the Fuse F14 from in front of the passengers footwell as this fuse is described as the Diesel PTC heater. Sounds like that all the dealer is going to do if it only takes 10 minutes to render safe.

I thought I looked into this and ascertained that Aussie FL2s don't have this heater fitted. Guess I was wrong. Although there's only 311 of them so maybe early models did have it but later models didn't.

I asked my dealer about this recall. He had no idea what i was talking about, and told me not to worry. I might just ask again....

You're OK Dorko - yours it outside the VIN range for this.

Mine seems to be affected. But after speaking with Toowoomba dealership who were keen to assist and then the Valley dealership here in Brisbane who hadn't heard of it, looked it up, looked up my car on their website and said just wait for a letter. Your car may not be affected?????

I have no idea! I think I'll just wait for the letter.

The gulf between the quality of Southern Cross Land Rover and Austral \ South Side Land Rover is massive.

The service of Southern Cross LR is brilliant... if only they weren't located in Toowoomba
