    1953 Fire Engine (UK E-Bay)

    Hi there all

    for those with lots of money (counts me out) but a very nice 80" 1953 SWB Land Rover Fire Engine.

    land rover series 1 80inch fire engine on eBay, also, Land Rover Range Rover, Cars, Cars, Parts Vehicles (end time 08-Nov-08 21:37:11 GMT)

    I am curious to see the end price.......

    Wow - looks very original - Love the matching red seats too. I suppose with the conversion rate that's about $25K

    Very nice unit - and low mileage too.

    BTW, were there many Series 1 fire engines in Aust?

    The reason I ask is that I don't think I've ever seen one until last Monday night when I took an 'interesting' detour (4 3/4 hrs to do what would have taken 35mins via the Hwy) on my home from Tamworth. When coming back onto reasonable dirt roads I spotted a Series 1 fire engine parked beside an old hut (also a Series III hardtop nearby).

    Unfortunately I didn't have time to get a photo or have a good look at it - after all it was about 10pm - but I know where it is and it hasn't moved for some time so I could go back sometime for a thorough inspection.

    19650 Quid on today's exchange rate works out at $46785.71
    3 years pay for one Rudd's finest (me)
    I wonder what they would give me for my cars if I painted them RED.
