RHD>LHD wiper motor issues- confused yank

I converted my 83 110 to lhd a couple of months back. The wipers are my only real lingering issue. I moved the wheel box's to the left and relocated the washer nozzles , installed lhd wiper arms etc. The issue I have is the arms need to come up from the rest position since the sweep orientation on the windscreen has changed. Since the wiper "rack/drive cable" is a simple in and out affair how do I reverse the orientation. The parts manuals and workshop manuals are worthless for this endeavor. Hoping one of you in Oz has some insight. Is the difference in the gear drive on the wiper motor or a wiring lead swap ?
Cheers from the other side of the planet,
    Doug

I have never had to do this, but I am pretty certain that what you have to do is to turn the wheel boxes the other way up - you have to take the "rack" cable out to do this, messy but not too difficult, gives you a chance to regrease it.

Yes, the wheel boxes need to be turned 180deg.
You can get away without removing the cable by removing the plate on the back of the wheelbox. The cable will slip out then you can rotate the wheelbox.

Check the gears at the same time. You can spin the shaft & get a 'new' spot for the cable to drive against.

Damn- looked at doing that. So if the cable and outer tube are currently below the wheel boxes you are saying run it above. Correct ?
    Thanks.

Yes. I've done this before on Morris Minors which have a near identical wheel box. Actually, I fit Morris/Leyland Marina wheel boxes which seem identical to Defenders .
