Sorry to hear that mate.
Just look on the bright side, you get a rebuild motor.
Driving along merrily some days ago, when all of a sudden at a set of lights, the disco starts 'choofing', 'wheezing' and spluttering.
Damn!
Running like a cut cat, not smooth at all!
Immediately suspected a head gasket but hoped it would just be a lead or plug
Alas, confirmed as a head gasket on Friday, blown through between cylinders 4 and 6.
Oh well, luckily, I can have one of the trainees do all the labour and one of the tradesmen is willing to supervise so some small saving there at least.
Off with the heads on Monday, x-rayed, skimmed and tested Tues/Wed/Thurs and hopefully start re-assy on Fri or Mon next.
There goes my plasma TV for Christmas though and have to ride to work
I'll keep you informed.

Update
So far so good.
Both heads off Monday morning and into *** (not sure I can mention their name) engine rebuild for xray, skim, and refurb.
No discernable damage to block or heads, just a blown head gasket
Bought VRS rebuild kit from MR Automotive today (Tuesday) and couriered to above engine rebuild place.
Looking good for a Friday drive away.
Ralph
