Just notice on the Defender pic's on the Land Rover website that they are showing the vehicle fitted with both the previous round pipe snorkel and also a Land Rover badged version of the new Mantec "plastic jobby" one.

Would definitely be worth a look at if anyone is buying a new Defender. Though the OEM price of a snorkel is probably rather more than the Mantec price.
