    Surging/jerking forward on 1st gear

    hi there,

I've mentioned this on a seprate thread but I thought I'd create one specific to it.

I bought a 2nd D3 07 built. I've got an issue with it where when the gear changes to 1st it surges/jerks forward (like on a manual when you change to first gear and let go of the clunch suddenly).

First I thought it was something to do with the break but a couple of days ago I was on a hilly part of a street and the light was red so instead of breaking I just let go of the accelarator and let gravity take over, it slowed down but when it changed to first gear it behave as how I described above, same thing happens when I apply the brake to slow the D3 down. It's not smoothly changing to 1st gear.

I've rang LR about it but I thought someone here might have an idea. By the way, the idling is fine, sitting at 800 rpm.

My wife refuses to drive it until it's fix, I guess that's a good thing for me, but it's kinda dangerous specially when I'm parking it in the garage.

    Thanks

It could be something as simple as a software upgrade that will fix this.
For instance, LTB00101 covers this problem on the V8 D3.

...... and they said ? You should take it in and demo the
problem to them. If you're lucky it will be software ....... and if
it isn't then it won't be your expense either.

Let us know the fix they unveil for you.
Fingers crossed they don't have to pull the
    whole bl**dy transmission out.

I like things left as factory-fresh if possible.

    Good luck

    Gday,
I had the same problem with mine a few weeks ago, The morning I had aranged to take it to have it looked at the problem went away.... Now after1,500kms and a 4wd trip to Bremer Bay its still fine....
Someone suggested it may be a dry joint in the electronics module!
Interested to know how yours is resolved.
