    Brisbane Diesel Shortage

All - in case you've been living under a rock there was a refinery in Brisbane a couple of weeks back. Well now there is a diesel shortage in Brisbane.

A guy at work had his wife ring up and say she was out of diesel and she couldn't find any around the Arana Hills area. So I went to a nearby BP and they said not only did they not have any but they produced a company fax saying it would not get any more until at least after Christmas.

The local Shell (cnr Rode Rd and Maundrell Tce) had 9000 litres. Given I need to do 2k on the 2nd for our family holiday I went and dusted off 6 jerries and topped the tank so I should be able to get there and back. Hopefully they will have worked out how to make diesel by then!

While at the Shell I talked to a lady from Samford and there was no diesel in the area, and she'd been to Morayfield and hadn't found it there.

Anyway, this may be a local thing but it might not hurt to top the diesel if you need to do some driving over chrissie/new year.

    Not limited to Brisvegas.
We get our fuel on the Northern Rivers NSW from Qld and we now have a shortage here as well.
Hopefully have enough to last till after Christmas.

I did read that they are starting production as we speak but it could take a while to get through the system.

No shortage up here at Mackay. They take it to the mines in B-double tankers. Probably at least ten a day. Sounds like another ploy to push the price up again.

I went from brisbane to Dalby on sunday. Most service stations were out,but those that had diesel were around 127 a ltr. Freedom were 118.9 but stations off highway were all around 118ltr.It was 121 at Dalby but there was not a lot about.
BTW there was a blue holden ute (unmarked) working its butt off on sunday on Gatton bypass.

Most around my area (NW of city) are out, I still managed to fill up at 121.9 earlier today though. On the way back they were out.
