Hannibal Roof Rack and 60th Anniversary brackets

I got the brackets from Hannibal during the week and was able to complete the roof rack on the Puma today (between rain storms) by installing the rails.

Peter at Hannibal Safari was great to deal with and they packed the rack and awning exceptionally well, and securely, for shipping without increasing the bulk of the shipment. He also was kind enough to order in these 60th Anniversary brackets instead of the normal Hannibal Safari one's - well it is a 2008 Defender, so that's a 60th Anniversary one even if it isn't an SVX

That's awsome. I was going to call Hannibal on Monday for almost this exact rig. The only difference I only want 2m long rack and awning. If it's not a rude question what did this cost you excluding freight?

    Cheers,

John, cost a lot, but in reality not that much more than a OL Rackmaster or even the ARB (if I also bought the optional ladder). Hannibal in Brisbane were great to deal with.

Personally I'm pleased I went for the full length as it covers from rear gutter to roof edge at windscreen. This also provides a "second skin" for the roof to a degree which is very good to have up here. Also the 2.4m awning gives just that little bit extra shade.

Here's a few pictures of the awning in use.

Great rack and awning, but where did you source the side steps how are they mounted and are they strong enough to take a grounding.

Not a fan of steps but if it keeps the girls happy

They are the OEM ones from LR. I share your opinion on side steps, but what can you do

I haven't grounded these yet, but they are fairly well made and all steel bolted onto the out riggers.
