I have a copy of the RAVE manual - BUT - its on my other laptop....
If you dont have an answer by the time i get home i'll have a look.
A work colleague just purchased a 2000 model V6 Auto..
Came to me yesterday complaining of "no reversing lights". Reckoned that he had checked the globes and they appeared OK. I pulled Fuse 2 and checked it with a multimeter and it is good....
I will remove the globes today and double check them with the meter.
If these are OK, it looks like it may be the switch, broken wire, bad earth etc.
Can anyone advise me where the reversing switch is located. Is it attached to the gearbox, or part of the T-Bar assembly.......???![]()

A few words from the RAVE CD.
Reverse
When reverse gear is selected, a main relay feed is able to flow from the transmission
selector/inhibit switch (C0244) to the reverse lamp relay (C0935) on an NG wire. The
reverse lamp relay (C0935) is earthed on a B wire and controls operation of the reverse
lamps. For more information on reverse lamp operation, refer to the Brake and Reverse
Lamps section of this manual.
+BRAKE AND REVERSE LAMPS.
A main relay feed is also supplied to the ATCU (C0932) and the selector indicator (C0675)
on NG wires. The 'R' symbol on the selector housing will now illuminate.
Automatic Transmission
Fuse 2 of the passenger compartment fuse box (C0580) provides an ignition feed to the
reverse lamp relay (C0935) on a G wire. When reverse gear is selected, the Electronic
Automatic Transmission (EAT) ECU (C0932) provides a feed to the reverse lamp relay coil
(C0935) a feed on an NG wire. The relay coil (C0935) is earthed on a B wire. The energised
reverse lamp relay (C0935) is now able to provide a feed to the RH (C0455) and LH (C0472)
reverse lamps on GN wires. Both lamps are earthed on B wires.
So check that the reverse lamp relay is working next.
