I think GCLRO are not only great..but bloody awesome

    G'day All,

Don't mean to steal the thunder from the "AULRO is great" thread...but it got me thinking . It's almost 3 yrs since I joined this wonderful club...I think I am member 12 or 15...have to check my wallet. We have our own section down below...along with other clubs....but let me just sing its praises for those that maybe AULRO members...but not GCLRO members.

In three years, I have never met a better bunch of people...and I mean that. We are from all walks of life, differing personalities, beliefs, vehicles etc...yet you wouldnt know it if you walked into one of our meetings or a trip. Their is a real passion obviously of LR's...and a real mateship amongst us. It is a club that caters for the single bloke..or lass ( don't think we have any of those ) through to the bloke with more kids than you can poke a stick at ( hmmm that maybe me).

In fact a recent member who drove a Jeep, thought our club was so frickin good....that he went and bought a D1.....just so he could join. Personally I have made life long friends in the club, anyone I would happily have a beer around a camp fire, sponsor the club plus on the committee as club secretary and it is genuinely one of the best things to happen to me as an adult .

Overall I think we are lucky to have a club such as ours and I hope that it remains as is for the next 10/20++ yrs, and I'm sure it will from the efforts of our committee and members...it will, and I just felt it needed some public recognition.....from me to you motley lot...thanks,

    Regards

    Stevo

P.S. yeah it is the first 6 beers I have had this week...beware the dingo trot will be to a camp fire near you soon

Sounds like a great club where the members, both new and old get a good hearing..... I hope the AULRO members who are also LROCV members take note. I was a member until I found myself talking to myself at meetings
I've made more friends here, been on more 'club trips' and had a better time and it hasn't cost me a cent. Congrats to AULRO

Agree with Stevo, bloody great club even if it's a bit of a drive to get to the meetings every month. Such a diverse membership from begenners to mad buggers who like to do extreme creek runs

Also they'res no egos or any of that crap that goes with clubsn that's anothetr thing that I like.

Hey mate, yep have heard things about other clubs...not necessarily LR ones.....I think we are lucky to have a diverse group of people that generally get on well. I think it is in part that we are pretty active and hence people get to socialise a fair bit whether on trips or at meetings.....and we take people on face value.

For sure we have the fender v disco v rangy kinda stuff...but always in good humour. For sure we have had a few hiccups along the way...but that is part of the learning process......but passion and mateship is what drives it. The founding committee members of the club set up a bloody good foundation for all to follow. I and my family don't wear our GCLRO caps and clothes with pride for nothing .

Great to hear your passion Stevo, was hoping to find it in the Vic club too but maybe it's just too big.
Maybe we should start an break-away AULRO/LROCV where membership on this forum is a compulsory element of membership. That way we'll have the people who want to have FUN in OUR club .
