a driveline "clunk" may or may not be a worry.......
there are many threads on this subject that you can search on this site and maybe a nearby fellow D1 owner can look at it for you
causes can range from normal driveline lost motion (ie. it's normal), through incorrect/insufficient diff & TC oils, a rubber "doughnut" about to shear, diff & TC setup & wear etc.
I would check the following before travelling very far...
1. rear driveshaft rubber "doughnut" condition (you don't want this to break while you are driving)
2. rear driveshaft front universal
3. driveline fluids (type & quantity)
if the above doesn't find the cause then you'll need to look further (if it is really bad)
