In my V6 petrol, according to the trip computer:
City 14.6 l/100km
Hwy 10.6 l/100km
I do drive fast but I've had to re-learn acceleration/braking to bring the consumption down to something I can live with.
Hi all,
I have a D2 td5 was wondering what the fuel economy is like on the 4.0 Ltr V6 petrol, TDV6 2.7 Ltr Diesel and the 4.4 Ltr V8 petrol. Have been looking at the prices falling and thinking about a change over. Would like some real world figures from people that have got them rather than the dealer or a mag thats only tested them for a week . I tow a camper so if you also tow and have some figures that would be greatly appreciated.
cheers and thanks in advance

Trip computer, which is notoriously over optomistic to the tune of 1 litres per 100, on my TDV6 shows 8 litres per 100 doing 100. Around town, and I don't take it easy, is average 12.5 per 100.
I reckon you must be the best driver in Australia to get those figures from a petrol V6.In my V6 petrol, according to the trip computer:

The combined fuel economy in the Green vehicle guide is
15.2 L per 100Kms.
In almost all cases the city economy is much worse than that.

Our Land Rover does not leak oil! it just marks its territory.......
As posted, that's from the trip computer and I agree with Forest that there's up to a 1L/100km error. Having said that I've checked the economy numerous times with actual consumption vs kms travelled and found it close enough.
I always run 98 octane, although that's been scarce here recently and a tank of 91 will raise the consumption by 2L/100km.
Can't stress enough the importance of a light foot on acceleration.
In the V8 I get 17 around town and an average 12-13 on a proper run. I can see single figures (just) sitting at 100 with the cruise control on.
With the V8 it seems important to have 98 octane. 96 is OK, but it adds 1-2KM around town and the car is noticeably slower. The wife put 92 in once (a whole tank full...) and the car was so slow I thought it was broken. I never checked the consumption, but I think it added 3-4 to it around town as I did tend to boot it a lot more.
I don't drive with economy in mind, so you should get as least the consumption that I do. I also spent a lot of time with the gearbox in sport mode.
Cheers, Steve
In my 4.0L V6 I use around 17-18 around town and 11.5-12.5 on the highway sitting on 115 km/hr. Average sits between 15-16. I generally use 95 octane.
