    Here's my effort, not the greatest but it was my first try and on a fairly ordinary camera.

    Very nice pics folks. So a lesson please...how do you go about taking these sorts of shots?

    Stand waiting in hope of being quick enough?
    Long, repeated exposures?

    Basically - yes

    For mine, being still daylight, long exposures weren't going to work. There was that much lightning it was only a matter of time before I jagged one, with a little bit of prediction as to when to fire the shutter. I think I fired about 100 to get that one.

    I think the key is set tripod for approaching storm take hundreds of shots at a long exposure, sift through them for the one or two good ones. Oh and try not to get hit by lightning.

    Mate that is a spectacular shot, Pictures like that sell for pretty penny in the shops
