Electric park brake info please...

Can anyone shed more light on the electric park brake issues with these? I have an intermittent problem with one not releasing everynow and then. Also squeals its head off when applied sometimes. I realise adjustment plays a big part, but is there any other things I need to take a look at?
Getting info about this is so far very difficult

Hi Justin,

There is a lot of info about these on Disco3.co.uk. There are a lot of people with issues. I think that adjustment is critical, cleaning is critical and I believe the cables can stretch to the point where adjustment is not possible anymore.

I have not had a single issue yet though (touch wood).

Never heard of them.

Cleaned and adjusted mine a month ago, no problems since, trundlebus was a head turner when EPB was applied before adjustments to rear brakes.

Done mine twice now once with sand where it locked the brake on, reversed a few times which unjammed it and then did the rest of the trip trying to remember not to apply the park brake. Second time a week after some trails with some mud crossings. That time it did not jam on but gave the screeching. Getting good at removing discs, cleaning and adjusting with that strange adjusting procedure

Just remembered, one of the guys in the club with a RRsport said on dusty roads he gets the EPB light flashing He cleans the EPB area with a pressure sprayer and that fixes the problem. Might try that the next time on mine I'm sure there will be a next time

Thankyou everyone for the responses. Today I removed disc rotors etc and cleaned and adjusted the shoes. The difference is amazing, it is now silent and engages/disengages almost imediately.
