I purchased a set of strap-on mirrors from AutoBarn. I find I don't use them much as I have adequate view with the std D2 mirrors and 2.29m caravan width.
This may be revisiting the issue but what recommendations are there out there for the best extension mirrors to use when towing a caravan, our van is 7ft 6ins wide which is slightly narrower than the norm, thanks in anticipation

I agree. I had some extender mirrors that made no improvement to the D3 mirriors so I just bought some cheap strap on mirrors from a show as I understand you are required by law to have extended mirrors with caravans etc over a certain width. I see better with just the D3 mirrors.

I use a set of "Aussie Truck Mirrors" and find them very good. Van is 7ft 10" wide.

If you've benefited from one or more of my posts please remember, your taxes paid for my skill sets, I'm just trying to make sure you get your monies worth.
If you think you're in front on the deal, pay it forwards.
I got them at the Rosehill Campning & Caravan show, but I'm sure someone like Supercheap Auto would have them. Our caravan is 22ft and I find the extension mirrors more of a distraction than help as the D3 mirriors are very good. I just put the extender morrors on for insurance and police purposes.

Hello All,
I just wish to add my findings for fitting a D4 with towing mirrors.
The D4 have the Power Fold Mirrors. These may fold in via Driver Control or by the Locking of the D4. This can be disabled by the Dealer but shall reset itself back to folding if the ECU is Reset or Powered Down. Therefore I removed the idea of towing mirrors with a stabiliser bar. I also did not wish to damage the lower door seal of the D4 so a also remove the strap on door mirrors. So I was down to looking at towing mirror that were fitted to the D4 folding mirror.
What I selected was a product from Milenco, Aero 2 Mirror. It attaches via 2 clamps which maybe clamped to either the top or bottom of the folding mirror. I found that it had to be attached to the top of the folding mirror because when attached to the bottom the clamps shall hit the door when the mirrors are folded. The clamps attached quite well to the folding mirror and I have just arrive back from a camping trip towing the campervan and was surprised at how little movement there was on the towing mirror. Milenco say there Areo design of the mirror back helps with this and it would appear that it does. Once I had re-adjusted the mirrors after a couple of km's after leaving home I did not have to re-adjust the mirrors again. The clamps did not mark the folding mirrors paint and the small amout of marking on the black plastic was removed after washing the D4.
I have Attached a number of photo's of the Towing Mirrors fitted in the Normal Position and Folded Position.
I hope this maybe of some use to anyone looking at options for towing mirrors for the D4.

Hello Garry,
I had purchased them from ATRV Aussie Traveller in Eargle Farm, Brisbane, 07 38683868.
They also have a outlet in Melbourne.

They were $110.00 including GST for the pair.

Thanks for that - I have something similar but are held on by straps that just slip off the car mirrors so will not stay on.
These look the goods.
Cheers
Garry
