Our Land Rover does not leak oil! it just marks its territory.......
Just what i thought, but in these times you may well think they might.
DB's right - no "official" discounts. The best you can shoot for are some inclusions - mudflaps, floor mats, fuel etc. Small stuff only, no bullbars. They won't even throw in metallic paint as a freeby, which is a joke really since white is the only non-metallic colour (even black is supposed to be metallic).

The reality is that LR will have to do discounts or the dealerships will pack up. They have already packed up in the Jeep world. Jeep has been calling around asking existing service customers if they will buy another Jeep and the timeframe.... in the telephone survey, there was a yes or no answer - not a maybe....
The law of supply and demand dictates that an oversupply of anything means a price drop.
I have not seen many " demo" 130's (not as many over-ordered)yet but there are quite a few 2008 model 110's being sold as demos(even a few svx60's anniverasy editions on carpoint). What a demo often means is that we( the dealer) could not sell this vehicle last year , and have tried for 2-3months this year so are now giving free rego and a few extras to shift the old stock at a discounted price(all stock is on credit so the longer a car sits on the floor the more it costs the dealer).
Quite often you will find these supposed demo's have less than 1-2000k's so may only have been driven by the salesman for a few weeks but as they are listed as a demo the dealer can write more of the price off as a loss giving you a better deal.
there is a 130demo on this site I could see

I see a 2008 130 just under 49k, If thats the price on the road then asuppose its not too bad saving, however if its not they are taking the ****.
And how strange Land Rover Delete the factory tub, yet dont drop the price...
Greed. I have never found a dealer ows willing to be fair,
Example my wife wanted to changed her x-trail, new shape, low k mint condition dealer offered 27k,cost new 43 on the road without any extras, yet they had one the same used they were selling for 37k, now that is taking the ****, give me a **** price and not move on a car i want from them at 58k, whats fair in that. Oh and the 130 for 49k would need a tub or tray.

SubscriberI think the reality is that there are still waiting lists on the defender range, ie they can sell all they can get allocated. And they are only brought into the country on order. Perhaps those waiting lists will dry up soon and they will start discounting. Because they are only imported when ordered - I was told that Land Rover UK simply reallocate the defenders to other markets to maintain a pipeline in Aus, ie there is no stock pile of the here.
I think the only deals would be on cancelled orders - where the customer has cancelled their order and given up their deposit. In this case tyou are stuck with their colour choice etc. BUT the dealer is more likely to move on this. I managed to get 7 seats instead of 5, free metalic paint, free mud mats front middle and rear, discounted at cost side steps, discounted at cost tinting $200!, all because I bought a cancelled order. As it happened the cancelled order matched the colour I was after. I'd still say it was not a brilliant deal, the TD5 extreme had quite a few more options than the PUMA does, all built into the price.
So perhaps go and ask them if they have any cancelled 130DC's you might be lucky.
I think ULR in Melbourne has one on the floor in white. Call them and see what you can do.

Land Rover as per other manufaturers will not discount to he public while they don't have to, if the car is in the show room, they have already sold it to the dealer.
Now it is the dealer can be asked to drop his pants. They own the stock and it is costing them a lot of interest and cash flow. If you are talking about an order i.e not in stock, then they have you by the short and curlies.
This might help.
Last week, I was after a new Defender and did not really want to pay the SVX premium, though is was way cool. The dealer had two SVX's in stock and no standard model defneders. I ask for two quotes. One standard and one on the SVX just to scare the wife and get her immediate agreement to the new standard model not the SVX. (thats what I told the sales dude anyway)
The dealer had a choice to either price the SVX to sell it, or risk having to order a standard model for me and still be stuck with two SVX's what were not fly out the door. He would still be in hock to the finance Co, not have moved his aging and high cost stock which was depreciating every day he held it, and it was the end of the month with another interest payment due.
The result was that he closed the gap on the standard model with a huge discount that made the price difference between the SVX and the standard model less than $9k, which did what he wanted and I am picking the SVX up this week.
The leasson here is that the dealers are in a buyers market if you are talking about their stock, and in a sellers market if the deal is a new order on the distributor. Negotiate with the dealer and stuff the extras, get the cash discounts, the extras are cheaper after market. But you need to prepared to take floor stock in whatever color and options they have on it.
