    Where to buy raised shock turrets?

    OK. so after filtering thru info i am going to install raised shock turrets (2") with longer travel shocks. So where other than gwynn lewis can i get the raised shock turrets ? Also what shock would people recommend for this application?

    You raise the turret to suit the shock. It all comes down to open/closed lengths, and generally, everyone does their own or get a fabricator to cut/shut the stock turret unless you really want bling ones.

    Choose what shock you want to run (eg Koni 82-2385 or OME N73 from a Land Cruiser 80 series ) allow 25mm bump stop compression (any less and you will go metal to metal on the shock, and that isn't good) measure open and closed and adjust the turret height accordingly.
    There is a way to fudge the turrets with a Koni/land Crusier setup and maybe the OME's, almost anything else requires cut and weld.

    I am making my own front shock turrents to suit my new shocks that way i can maximise the extra shock lenght, most of the shelf stuff is a compromise.

    Making the shock towers 2" higher may not be the way to go, as this will allow the axel to travel up but, your bump stop will still stop the travel up in the same spot. Have you looked at lowering the shock tower by 2", this will still give you travel up to the bump stop but, will give you 2" of travel down. This is were you need traction and travel.

    Not quite.. a longer shock is also longer when closed. In the circumstance quoted the shock will top out when fully closed before it reaches the bump stop. That's why you need to lift the top mount.

    Further to what Tusker said, you can't drop the turrets 2" and not have the standard shocks go metal to metal either. You'll need extended bumpstops, so what's the point ?

    If you really want longer travel/better articulation and hence more droop, you are much better off fitting longer dampers and raise the turrets. (longer stroke dampers have a longer closed length, hence the need to raise the turret height accordingly.)
    You end up with more droop without compromising bump so you have in fact more travel overall.
