To you 11A experts
I repost here 'cause its a bit more logical ...
My 11A SWB HT is chassis 24302377a, and engine 25131001b.
It has spoked steering wheel, 2 bobbin gene regulator, one only indent on the front mudguards for sidelights, single windscreen wiper, screw in hand tighten dizzy cap leads. Earlier (Original?) Vic rego HSD 811
A common enough configuration and I recon 1962, whats your guess?
cheers

try finding out its true age with the rego plates. may be diferent in Vic but i picked up a unregistered landy with the plates still on and called rego dept. they told me the date of manufacture as on their puter. then told me i had to pay transfer fees...told him my name was "argo" and hung up
.
My SII's chassis number says 1961, but rego papers say 1960.
Go figure![]()
cut it in half and count the rings....
mine was 8 years old.......
yet the rego said 1963??...I am so confused...

Unless it has been continuously registered in the same state (getting unlikely for 2as!) it is unlikely that the state's age is anything more than what they were told when it was most recently registered. And even if it has been continuously on their books, the registration papers were prepared by hand when first registered, and only transferred to computer fairly recently, so there is plenty of opportunities for errors to creep in.

Thanks guys for the info. I believe the HSD prefix Vic rego number was its original rego and I have those plates from the first owner.
Digger - Count its rings?? - Here's a comment on tree rings (Attached pic I hope!)
JDNSW - I had an Iseki 7000 tractor for many years fitted with Isuzu 3.9. Super tough motor. Only thing for 15,000 hours work was a cooling jacket casting, 'cause I didnt keep up the green radiator goop properly.
Cheers all ... Hugh
