mmm i thought an 08 model is an 08 model unless it actaully was built in 07 and only registered in 08....
no signifcant changes that I know of
My youngest son has been looking to buy a Puma for the last 6 months or so.All seem to be MYO7.It appears the vehicles built in 08 are also MY 07.Are the 09 ones MY09,if so does anyone know what the differences are if any.I presume the MY 09 ones have had the mods that were done to the earlier ones, under warranty now done in the factory, but any other changes would be good to know.
Thanks

SubscriberEveryone refers to the 08 build cars as MY07 because they're the same build and spec as the model year 2007 cars.
Likewise 2005 cars are MY03.
MY09 seem to have a few minor things fixed.
The VIN will tell you the build year.
MY15 Discovery 4 SE SDV6
Past: 97 D1 Tdi, 03 D2a Td5, 08 Kimberley Kamper, 08 Defender 110 TDCi, 99 Defender 110 300Tdi[/SIZE]
OK i must be a bit slow.....so all the 08 built are called MY07 as they are 07 spec
Checked my Disco,built1/04,plated 3/04,MY03.
Anyway, looks like the Deefer is gonna be built 1/09,plated3/09,MY09
$900 for any colour not white is a bit steep, bit less then $1800 for a coloured D3 i suppose
Anyway when it lobs in the driveway i will post a pic.
ummmm.....thanks Rud for the small business stimulus package thingy, looks like the company will own it for a while.
The Puma engined Defenders are 07 model but one bought today would be a 09 my.
Nearly. The VIN will tell you the Model Year. The next model year is generally released here in about Sept/Oct the previous year. For example, I would expect to see 10 MY cars appear here in about 6 mths.
The Defender release was delayed out here so the 07 MY didn't last too long before the 08 MY's started appearing.
An early 08 build will be an 08 MY. As explained above, a mid-late 08 build will be an 09 MY.
Interestingly, you won't find a build date on the recent Defenders, just a compliance date.

Ah i see...
I have never seen a MY08 defender.. but im sure there are not many of them!
They seem to have called it the MY07 defender, then straight onto the MY09 defender.
Does anyone know the updates the MY09 has over the MY07??
Cheers,
Paul
I think it just has all the quirks that have been found on the 07 fixed
